A Good Weekend
Today the new owners of 6 Hamilton Ave (effective March 27) brought their two youngs boys to give the place the once over. And that they did, discovering all the nice hiding places and checking to see if their are any monsters in the basement (just a friendly moose monster). It was a joy to watch them experiencing this new sense of ownership and I trust I'll feel very much the same on moving into the new condo.
Today was also the day the "SOLD" sign went up, just 23 days after the house was listed. The young couple who bought it look as if they'll really enjoy it, and they paid a price that I'm happy with. What did I do to deserve this? Now I have seven whole weeks to pack and be out of here. That shouldn't be too hard, should it? Of course, in those same seven weeks my son and his wife need to find a new home for themselves, settle all the details, and be moved into it. Not quite so easy!
This weekend Cobourg celebrated Heritage Week with displays at the mall, including the annual one by the Cobourg Museum Foundation. In the time that I was on duty it seemed that more people know about us now and that their reaction is generally positive. How many new memberships this will translate into remains to be seen. One of our visitors was Cobourg's Town Crier, quite an imposing figure. When I took his picture he asked whether I needed to use a wide angle lens!
