Is It Spring Yet?
The sun's shining today and I just had to get out with the camera to see if perhaps there are some signs of spring out there. Supposedly it arrived 41 days ago!
Cockburn Park, right in the middle to town, is always a good place to go.
No, that isn't snow!
The wild life was on the loose in spite of newspaper articles and written signs. Good for them, I say!

Next I followed the road just across the highway from where I live and enjoyed this little rivulet.

I'd been wanting to photograph this fence all winter but now "spring" will have to do.
Cheers!

Phoenix - Quick Visit to the Art Museum I'm so far behind in posting there's probably no point in trying to get caught up. So I'll just pick up in Phoenix and see how far I can go. I was there in mid-March for a Road Scholar (formerly Elderhostel) course called "The Wright Stuff" but could be "A Taste of Phoenix Culture". I stuck around for a couple of days to go to a ballgame and see a few places we couldn't cover in the course, such as the Phoenix Art Museum. These days I tend to head for the modern art section, which usually turns out to be the most "fun". I enjoyed the style and colour of this painting and played around with it a bit.

In the same room was this beautiful, big, black concave-convex creation. (Note the relative size of the man beside the window.)

I could have stayed there for hours discovering how my point of view and camera settings completely changed what the camera recorded.

This last one gives a crazy interpretation of what is actually there - I think?

With such big creations it's nice to have lots of room, and as you can see the place was far from crowded. People in my pictures were hard to come by.

Before leaving on the trip I'd ordered a set of three lenses for my point and shoot Canon. One is a circular polarizing filter designed to reduce glare and reflection from non-metallic objects. The case around this camera offered a good test.

What a difference!

I'll try to do better and get some more from Phoenix up shortly.
