A Prayer for You and the New Year

This prayer was passed on to me by my friend Antoinette. It could be a prayer for anytime but it is certainly appropriate as we look forward to a new year. I pass it on to you.

May today
be all you need it to be.
May the peace of God and the freshness of the
Holy Spirit rest in your thoughts,
rule in your dreams tonight,
and conquer all your fears.
May God manifest himself today
in ways you have never experienced.
May your joys be fulfilled,
your dreams be closer,
and your prayers be answered.
I pray that faith enters a new height for you.
I pray that your territory is enlarged.
I pray for peace, healing, health, happiness,
prosperity, joy, true and undying love for God.

Reuben

"Reuben read the notice.

Wanted:
Beasts of Burden
to carry Important People
elephants, camels, horses,
dromedaries,
llamas, oxen

but not Donkeys.
Not wanted
Donkeys.
Why not donkeys?"

Christmas Eve greetings all. Reuben is about to solve the puzzle and once again will be with me in Church on Christmas Day.

The Ongoing Saga of Belize and Me

Did I tell you where to go for the latest on my upcoming trip to Belize? Since this blog is now called "VIM in Belize No Longer" I had to open a new blog for the return trip. Please go to: http://backtobelize.spaces.live.com/

I Made It!

I didn't really think I'd be able to do it, but no problem! I left Cobourg at 6:30am Saturday and arrived at my sister's home in St. Stephen, New Brunswick at 7pm - 12 1/2 hours of smooth sailing. There were no problems crossing the borders, no snow on the roads, and thanks to my Tom Tom I didn't take one wrong turn! Of course, there wouldn't be any snow since I'd just laid out $$$ for a set of new snow tires! Now it only remains to be seen whether I can do the whole thing in reverse in a couple of weeks.

Before leaving Ontario and through the wonders of the Internet I located a second-hand pedestal mailbox for sale in Saint John, N.B. So I'll be driving into the city sometime this week to pick it up and cart it all the way back home. I suppose I could just cut a slot in the front door, but....

I Need Help.

I woke up this morning from a dream in which I was being severely chastised (to put it politely) by someone, from a previous parish I think, for bring forgetful and missing appointments – which I have been and done at least twice recently!

Fr. Stephen, our Rector, suggested that I was perhaps being hounded by St. John the Baptist in the midst of this Advent Season.  Whatever, I will be trying to be more responsible – though I see that I have just double-booked for Tuesday’s Advisory Board meeting and will be going to the Messiah in Peterborough instead!

I need your help, everyone.  Don’t be shy about reminding me of my responsibilities, other than the responsibility to remember.  Keep in touch; there is no one else here to remind me.  What a shame if I happened to forget to catch my plane to Belize on Feb 20.

Listening to God

This is something I want to remember so I’m sharing it with you in the hopes that will help my remembering.

Listen to the little things God’s telling you

Listen for the big things

What Does San Francisco Mean To You?

A little fun with Windows Movie Maker. Its only about 5 1/2 minutes long though the video goes on blank for another 5 minutes - not sure why.

My Camera!!!

What have I done to it? Now that I'm finally getting used to it it has stopped working - something inside is blocking the memory card from connecting. I'll be in Oshawa on Saturday to visit Steve and Jeanine so I'll take it in to Black's then. I really want it fixed because I may be going back to Belize for a week in February. Please see the new blog I'm trying out.
